Hey all! Pitch Wars are on! The day has arrived when writers may start selecting three mentors of their choice. Why should you choose me????? Here goes. *cracks knuckles*

My Stats

  • I’m a freelance editor and have lots of experience editing ALL genres of fiction. As your mentor for Pitch Wars, you’re getting my services for free!
  • I run pitch and query contests, as well as blog hops regularly, like Brenda, and have spent endless hours helping others learn How to Pitch Like a Rock Star or spiff up their pages.
  • I worked in a query forum for many months. There’s no query cononundrum I can’t solve!
  • I will give my writer the crucial tough love they need with lots of hugs to get them to the goal–agent reads galore!

What I Am Looking For

I’ve worked with a lot of adult books lately, so sorry folks, I’m jumping on the Young Adult and New Adult bandwagon for this contest. What YA/NA genres am I dying to get my hands on? (By the way, NA means New Adult, or novels that hit the 18-20 something age range)

  • historicals
  • time travel
  • steampunk
  • contemporaries w/ an edge or with a romantic element
  • romantic comedies
  • thrillers
  • paranormal

Why am I a good choice for YA/NA?

I’ve spent more than a decade teaching, coaching, and tutoring high school kids. I live with their voices in my head and I can spot an authentic writing voice from a mile away. So pick me, pick me! So I can pick you! And let’s nab those agent requests!!
